Currency:

Legal currency is the Euro.

Banks:

Opening hours are Monday – Friday from 08.30 – 12.30. All magor credit cards are widely accepted. The Currency in Cyprus is EURO.

Driving License:

Visitors with a valid International license or their National license are allowed to drive in Cyprus. The Green Insurance card is not acceptable and the law requires at least a Third Party cover issued by an authorized motor insurance company based in Cyprus.

Buses in Ayia Napa:

During the summer buses run regularly across, almost 24 hours a day throughout the week and the weekend. A good way to go from Ayia Napa to Nissi Beach is by bus. Check the buses time table at www.osea.com.cy.

Driving in Ayia Napa:

Same as in the UK – left hand side of the road. International traffic signs are in use. General speed limit on normal roads is 50 kmh unless a lower limit is indicated. The limit on Motorways is 100 km (60 mph). Seat belts for front seat passengers are compulsory and children under five must not sit in the front passenger seat. Being in charge of a motor vehicle or pedal cycle with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit is an offence. Helmet is needed to drive a scooter.

Pharmacies:

Local chemists are all highly trained and speak fluent English. To spot a pharmacy look for a green cross on a white background.

Postal Service:

The Ayia Napa Postal office is open from 7:30 until 13:30 Monday to Friday and few hours on Saturday morning. Money transfer service is also available there.
